IPAF MEWPs For Managers

Organisations that use mobile elevating working platforms, cherry pickers, boom lifts and scissor lifts in the course of their work need to understand their legal and management responsibilities around the safe and effective use of access platforms on site. This course enhances the understanding of how to plan the job, preparing risk assessments and selecting the right equipment that will lead to efficient and safe completion of working at height applications.

E-Learning Course

The MEWPs for Managers course can be completed online at your own pace and at a time to suit your availability. You will need a compatible PC, laptop or tablet to complete the course. The online system features sophisticated facial recognition to confirm the identity of the attendee during the online training and evaluation session.

Course Aims.

This course delivers the knowledge and understanding for managers to know what is the appropriate effective and safe methods of using access equipment on site.

There is an expectation that employers train staff who plan, supervise and manage working at height applications and the machines used.

Core competencies covered by the course include:

  1. Job planning
  2. Carrying out risk assessments
  3. Correct equipment selection

In addition, the training course will provide the answers to the following questions:

  • What are the legal obligations that we need to adhere to?
  • Is the right machine for the job selected?
  • Who will be operating the access platform. Are they familiar with machine and trained sufficiently?
  • Have you identified possible hazards and put in place control measures.

Who Should Attend This Course.

This course is more suited for Managers and persons of responsibility such as employers, foremen, supervisors and project managers from a wide range of industries including facilities management, construction, retail, events, airports and forestry. IPAF MEWPS for Managers Qualifications

This course only covers the theoretical aspect of working with powered access equipment and does not include any operator training.

Upon successful completion of the course, through passing the written examination, candidates receive a printed certificate to demonstrate you’ve passed the course. If you already hold a Powered Access Licence, the MEWPS for Managers category qualification can be added to the licence.
