IPAF Harness Awareness (HA) & Harness User (HU) Training in Coventry

Our approved IPAF Harness Awareness (HA) and Harness User (HU) Training courses enhance and increase the knowledge of attendees to understand how harnesses can protect boom lift and scissor lift operators.

This two part course is designed to educate and establish greater understanding around the types of harnesses that are available for MEWP operators, how they should be used and remaining safe when working at height.

The half day course consists of the theoretical awareness element and is supplemented by the addition of practical training that covers:

  1. Pre-use checks of a harness and lanyard
  2. Fitment and adjusting harnesses and lanyards for use in access platforms.
  3. Identifying suitable anchor points on cherry pickers, scissor lifts and boom lifts.
  4. Adjustment of the lanyard to provide effective restraint.

The harness awareness (HA) course can be completed online and alongside the harness user (HU) practical assessment at our IPAF approved training centre on Torrington Avenue in Coventry. If the Harness User course is completed online, the practical element of the Harness User course can be incorporated and completed during any of the IPAF powered access operator courses.

Course Aims.

The IPAF Harness Awareness (HA) and Harness User (HU) training course provides a complete overview of how harnesses and lanyards should be used in conjunction with mobile elevating working platforms (MEWPs).
